Ringa's DJ: The Anniversary Edition (2006)

The highlights of the DJ years in the life of Ringa.

WARNING: This could get quite long, so I'm dividing it by years. It will still be long I think. However, I'm not gonna make it a fake cut b/c I hate those and I think you should all just read and enjoy.

January 8, 2006-
CherryWine6913: i like it.. it has so many meanings
CherryWine6913: so many layers
CriticalQueen: yeah
CherryWine6913: like an onion
TenderBlueAngel: like an ogre
CherryWine6913: or parfait
CriticalQueen: or a parfait
CriticalQueen: kllkbsefllkbg l/fv
TenderBlueAngel: <-- dies

January 10, 2006-
silverreject: oh... i have your boxers. i washed them
TenderBlueAngel: LOL
TenderBlueAngel: ok

January 12, 2006-
I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I like to keep consistent in that fashion, you see.

January 18, 2006-
Count Olaf told me he loved me today on facebook.

January 23, 2006-
Last night we ordered pizza and Maria took the wrong pizza from the front desk. I ordered from Pizza Hut and she paid for and brought up a Domino's order. It was almost the same order too. So as we're trying to figure that out, Pizza Hut called again and was there. But before she could go down to straighten it out, some drunk circus ninja in a fucking Steeler jersey walked into Maria's room and shut the door behind her and proceeded to sit on Maria's bed and talk nonsense. Before we could get her out of there, she tried to go through Maria's stuff looking for her "keys." Apparently she thought she lived there. So Maria went downstairs to see about the pizza, and it turned out that Athena was the Domino's order. So we straightened that out without too much hassle. But it was damn funny.

DJ EZ Lou played most of my songs and told me happy b-day over the loudspeaker. I got elegantly wasted for less than $15. I played team pool with Crystal and kicked ass. I danced. Suzanne got way drunker than I... and it was hilarious. Then me and Crystal got kicked off the pool table at the end of the nite. Loads of fun.

February 3, 2006-
Fucking Steeler circus midgets are out on Fifth Avenue waving Terrible Towels and trying to get ppl to beep at them. And guess what. Ppl are beeping at them. Lots. I hate Pittsburgh.

February 19, 2006-
Fuck. Just fuck. Fuck is a good word, let's leave it at that. Fuck. That's the way I feel right now. Fuck. I wish there was a little monkey on my moods for FUCK. I could make one in that new mood theme I keep thinking I'm gonna make but never do b/c I'm a loser who never does anything I ever say I'm going to and I suck at life and should probably just go lie down and die like my great-grandmother used to say she needed to do whenever I asked her how she was doing but then when she did die it nearly fucking killed me too because she was the one person in my family that I could ever really stand to be around all the time and LIKED all the time even though she was my mom's stepfather's mother so she wasn't even really related to me but her and her son, my grandfather, have been more like family to me than any blood family I have so I'll just put that idea RIGHT OUT. Fuck grammar. Never thought you'd hear that from me, didya?

February 28, 2006-
TenderBlueAngel: I'm giving up severed heads on sticks for lent!

July 25, 2006-
I can't wait to have a little housewarming soiree there. Although our lease says "no parties, pets or bicycles!" Ha. The lady told us we could have bicycles when we looked at the place. And we paid a pet deposit. So that means the party thing is a lie too. Can you believe the lease says we can't have electric cords in our apt? And that we have to cover at least 65% of the floor? WTF? Of course, I've seen some weird shit on leases before, and as far as my experience goes, they never really mean half of it. I think they're trying to scare their tennants. Well fuck you, landlords.

August 30, 2006-
Coldplay just takes me back to my sophomore year here when I lived alone and played Coldplay and Morrissey and had my first class with Csaba and watched anime and was an insomniac and never left my room and saw things in the dark and was just meeting Dennison and still had Pat around and wrote formal poems all the time and started writing in my DJ and dyed my hair blue and went to see Coldplay live and had Project Mayhem in the dorms over spring break and had two pet fish and took care of Ursula's fish and let Ursula stay in my room when she broke up with Isaac and was actually friends with Krissie and not friends with FishStick and that godawful tree was in the lounge and we went out onto the 7th floor roof and we got drunk in our dorm rooms and I had a bunk bed with Erika's leopard pattern sheets on the bottom bunk and I ate Easy Mac every day and KenTacoHut was still open and VanCall still worked at Carlow and I got my tongue pierced and my eyebrow re-pierced and I worked at FYE and the library and stared out the window in the bathroom for hours late at night and went to CVS when it was dark in the winter and spent money I didn't have on things I didn't need and Janiece and Tai lived down the hall from me and so did Cara until she went to Italy and Suz was one floor up and I used to go to Shannon's room and sit in the window and yell things at the people going up and down the hill.

September 18, 2006-
Then Mel spilled weed all over the back of my grandma's car. So I must vacuum that before I return it.

September 28, 2006-
I want to go on a graveyard hop. Or a graveyard sock-hop. But it has to wait until the leaves are orange and red and yellow. None of this green bullshit.

Angela to her cat: "Come up here, dammit! Your body is warm!"

AHH! A bird just flew into the window of Angela's apartment and bounced off!

October 3, 20006-
There's no monkey down there for what I'm feeling right now.

I want my apartment to be clean and perfect. I want little gnomes to come do all the work for me while I'm sleeping.

Myspace is for the birds.

November 16, 2006-
The people upstairs made so much noise today drilling and banging and all kinds of stuff. I banged back for the first time ever. And if they ever bang on our ceiling again after the noise they made today, I will slam the door twice more just to piss them off. They have no right to complain with the amount of noise they make. And we're never loud late at night, so fuck them in their fucking ears.

December 25, 2006-
OMG this is too damn funny. I should make a "Highlights of Ringa's DJ" entry. Since I'm starting from the beginning. It will be my 4 Years and 22 Days Anniversary Edition. I will get to work right away! Look for it!

"Do you like girls or boys? It's confusing these days."

Hallo DJ! UGH, I would normally beat myself all up over not having written in here since JANUARY! But, being that I know me and I know how I am, I know exactly why I haven't. I'm lazy. Point blank. And I'm busy. That counts too. It's funny; I just got a call from my grandmother saying she's angry at me for not returning her calls. SHE doesn't know me. I do. I think I'm the only one who does now or will ever un-der-stand me. And you know what? That's fine. I don't need anyone to understand me. I just need people to accept me or leave me the hell alone. And I'm not getting a lot of that right now.

DJ, I've missed you sooooooooooo much. I really could have used you to vent about so many things. I'm typing so quickly right now that I keep having to erase mistakes and re-type them. Sigh. I needed this. I need some kind of emotional OUT. I feel like I'm in a place right now in life where I'm very much trapped; can't move any which way, and it will take me doing something almost impossible to get me out. Halp. Save me.

Only I can do that.

Soooo cheery, I know. Oh well, this is my DJ after all, and we all know how that works.

So let's see... what have we missed in the past year?

-I saw Morrissey on St. Patrick's Day from the 4th row and took stalker pictures of him getting onto his tour bus
-I moved into a REAL HOUSE finally
-I was the maid of honor at Jess' wedding
-I went on a trip to Disney World
-I had another monologue performed
-I did a few really awesome shows
-I talked to Brian for the first time in years
-I had the 6th HIJ party and an awesome Halloween party too
-I signed up to potentially go to Ireland this summer with the theatre group
-I did a few craft sales, nothing huge
-I went to a lot of flea markets and yard sales, including our Yard Sale Carnival
-I worked at Starbucks and completed my 4th year with the company (that means my stock options are vested!)
-and a bunch of other things happened I'm sure

Yeah. So this is my revival entry. And now I'm going to eat some French bread pizza and watch Survivor online and try to make myself think about costumes for the one acts that are coming up this week. Hopefully, now that I have full access to a computer and a laptop all the time and we have internet at home all the time, I'll be writing again soon.

I missed ya, Cruel World. ;)

Ringa's DJ: The Anniversary Edition (2005)

The highlights of the DJ years in the life of Ringa.

WARNING: This could get quite long, so I'm dividing it by years. It will still be long I think. However, I'm not gonna make it a fake cut b/c I hate those and I think you should all just read and enjoy.

May 8, 2005-
Now I know what I DIDN'T miss about DJ. Of course, it's not DJ's fault. It's fucking Carlow's slow ass diseased computer labs. I just typed a million page long entry, and of course the computer decided to restart in the middle of it, without ever shutting down. I'm just typing away when the screen goes black and it says windows is starting up. Bastards. I had all these fun quizzes in here from Monty Python things too. *Pout* And a pretty picture of Nigel. Damn. Well, my picture of Nigel's going in here if it kills me! I'll take the quizzes again another day, but Nigel must not wait!!!

May 22, 2005-
StunnerLuver4: tim curry's hosting a charity cock
StunnerLuver4: LOL
StunnerLuver4: um
StunnerLuver4: that's not what i meant
StunnerLuver4: cocktail
StunnerLuver4: ha
lasanges: hahaa
StunnerLuver4: on june 8th
StunnerLuver4: in nyc
lasanges: are you going?
StunnerLuver4: that was the worst freudian slip ever
StunnerLuver4: it's $750 a ticket
lasanges: oh wow
StunnerLuver4: if i had $750 i'd so be there
lasanges: heh
StunnerLuver4: for tim curry and his cock
lasanges: -tail
StunnerLuver4: yeah that too

Jess and I bought a hibachi grill and a baby inflatable swimming pool for our graduation party next weekend. I know that pool's gonna get broken. But it was on sale for $7.50. I want to see how many of us can fit in it.

May 24, 2005-
I wish I was an alcoholic... or a vampire.

May 29, 2005-
I got super drunk on Thurs nite for 80s nite. Which was hella fun. But then I came home and was all crazy and fell down a couple times and cut my foot open.

June 7, 2005-
It's so freaking hot. I want to kill everybody and the sun and then myself. And then jump in a pool. In Alaska.

June 10, 2005-
Ah, the afternoon rush at the DD. Some woman just came in and spent $44. I don’t understand it. The other day, a guy came in and asked me if he could owe me 25 cents of his purchase. Honestly. Then he pulled out a twenty and a bunch of other bills. Apparently, he wanted to owe me the change because he didn’t want to break his bills and have to carry change around with him.

We should have naptime at the dollar store. I should just invent it. Fuck all these customers. They’re all complete idiots anyway. If a smart customer would come in here on any given day and manage to not piss me off, I’d probably just die.

June 15, 2005-
Broke my computer. Life sucks. Come to my Halloween party on Saturday. A drunken time will be had by all.

June 17, 2005-
So here's the advice of the day, kids:
Blueberry White Tea= YES
Blueberry Green Tea= NO

June 22, 2005-
I should go feed my neopets. I bet they've all died. I haven't fed them since May or something like that. Yup, they're all dying. But they'll never actually die. Yet, even though they're dying, three of their moods are "delighted" and the fourth is "happy." I'm delighted to die today, how about you?

Oh god, here comes Sister Ellie. I hope she doesn't see me...

June 29, 2005-
I WILL NOT BE WHAT MY FAMILY WANTS ME TO BE. They all want me to be "better" than they were. Fuck that. They're not living out their retarded dreams through me. I'm gonna be a fucking failure. I hope I never make millions. I hope I disappoint every one of them. I'm gonna dye my hair and get my eyebrow pierced again and be a FREAK, b/c that's what they all hate. FUCK YOU ALL. "It's my life to ruin my own way." And if I want to ruin it, I will. But what I'm doing that's making me happy isn't ruining my life! That's what they don't see! It's not making my life horrible! It's just a little harder. But if I have to work harder to be happy, they should be happy for me! Fuck them all. Fuck careers. Fuck money. Money is so fucking screwed up in the world. I'll never understand it.

I AM NOT MY FUCKING KHAKIS!!! I AM NOT MY FUCKING DOLLAR STORE JOB!!! I WILL NEVER BE A FUCKING 9-5 ZOMBIE!!! FUCKING DEAL WITH IT!

July 17, 2005-
In the past week, I packed nothing, almost got killed by a roll of gaff tape, looked at no apartments (but called many), worked 46.5 hours, was in the theatre for 33 hours, got my Harry Potter book 6 at midnite, went to ENP only ONCE, and nearly sweated to death.
If I ever get pregnant I'm going to hang myself from an electric in Antonian Theatre by a light cable. Blahhhhhh!

August 14, 2005-
But all these ppl kept coming up to me like "I haven't seen you since you were this big!" Some lady that I really didn't know at all actually said to me, "You grew up!" In response, I said, "Yes. I did."

P.S.- Snape's pretty!

August 30, 2005-
StunnerLuver4: some of these pairings i just don't get
StunnerLuver4: sirius and ginny? when have they ever even had a scene together???
CriticalQueen: department of mysteries
CriticalQueen: everyone + thier moms were there
StunnerLuver4: ah yes
StunnerLuver4: but he dies right then and prolly didn't get a chance to check out ginny beforehand
CriticalQueen: prolly not

StunnerLuver4: huff puff
CriticalQueen: huff puff
StunnerLuver4: aroooooooo

Mehgan just came in and asked me why I'm here. What a good question. B/c I'm pathetic like Harry Potter, that's why.

StunnerLuver4: hey what are u then if ur not human?
LilBlondeBunny16: a demon
StunnerLuver4: from where?
StunnerLuver4: Paraguay?
LilBlondeBunny16: no
StunnerLuver4: where at then?
StunnerLuver4: when did u move to pgh?
LilBlondeBunny16: i dont know i have amnesia
StunnerLuver4: do u live in a hospital?
CriticalQueen: Maria: didn't think this through
StunnerLuver4: Lupin: Arrooo? Arroooo. (is sad)
CriticalQueen: Maria: eats more chocolate
StunnerLuver4: Lupin: arrrroooooooorrrrrrrrrroooooooooorooooooooooo
CriticalQueen: Maria: agrees with ringa
StunnerLuver4: Lupin: licks maria's eyelids

September 5, 2005-
But I did watch HP3 the other day in French just to hear what each character's dubbed voices would sound like. Me = loser.

September 6, 2005-
CherryWine6913: they hear it from the people of the town
StunnerLuver4: they called us
CriticalQueen: gypsies
CherryWine6913: gypsies
StunnerLuver4: tramps
CherryWine6913: and thieves
CriticalQueen: they
StunnerLuver4: but every nite
CherryWine6913: the men would come around
StunnerLuver4: and lay their $$$$ down

September 19, 2005-
So I spent my day in Steve's office, again. Listening to wolves, reading poetry, attempting to steal Steve's shoes, coaxing Steve into admitting his gayness, hanging with Cara (surprise!), reading slash, etc. I officially have no life. Oh well.

October 3, 2005-
TenderBlueAngel: the story i read last nite should be called stupider and stupider

CherryWine6913: how can lupin be preggers
CherryWine6913: he is a he

CherryWine6913: CHALLENGE: 31) I must rape you. ??????
TenderBlueAngel: lol
CriticalQueen: Michelle, I have to rape you or else
TenderBlueAngel: i love that one

TenderBlueAngel: i don't mind snirius
TenderBlueAngel: but they're all so serious
CriticalQueen: whats wrong with snirius i LIKE snirius
TenderBlueAngel: HAHA i rhymed!
CriticalQueen: oh whoops
CriticalQueen: lol omg you're a poet and you didnt know it!
TenderBlueAngel: i like oral sex b/c it's funny
TenderBlueAngel: OMG OMG OMG
CriticalQueen: yeah
CriticalQueen: wha
TenderBlueAngel: OMG x 15
TenderBlueAngel: u
TenderBlueAngel: light up my life
CriticalQueen: ???
TenderBlueAngel: michelle is deeply immersed in her slash
CriticalQueen: omg i know
TenderBlueAngel: she doesn't even know what's going on around her
CriticalQueen: *squee*!
TenderBlueAngel: let's have a torrid affair in this chat room
CriticalQueen: i know i know!
TenderBlueAngel: right in front of her
CriticalQueen: lol
TenderBlueAngel: she'll never know!

CriticalQueen: i just thought you had a weak disdain fo this sort of thing
CherryWine6913: oh god no
CherryWine6913: i have a weak disdain for u and ringa... thats all

TenderBlueAngel: Warnings: m/m slash, violent sex scene, mpreg, language, and American spelling.
TenderBlueAngel: WARNING
TenderBlueAngel: AMERICAN SPELLING
CriticalQueen: OMG not that!
CherryWine6913: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo
CriticalQueen: thats my only squick damn it

CriticalQueen: she totally doe
CriticalQueen: s
TenderBlueAngel: i totally do
TenderBlueAngel: just like all the other ringa do

October 9, 2005-
TenderBlueAngel: that woman's in the lab more than we are
CriticalQueen: what woman
CriticalQueen: the one who was here friday night?
TenderBlueAngel: yeah
CriticalQueen: yeah
TenderBlueAngel: and thought we were her buddies
CriticalQueen: lol, she did
TenderBlueAngel: i was all like get back u don't know me like dat!
TenderBlueAngel: playa!
CriticalQueen: whats wrong with your brain
CriticalQueen: really
TenderBlueAngel: LOADS
CriticalQueen: i know i know
CriticalQueen: was she "all up in our grill"?
TenderBlueAngel: fo sho
CriticalQueen: fo shizzle
TenderBlueAngel: mari-izzle

TenderBlueAngel: i think remus should take a bite out of her
TenderBlueAngel: and she should die
TenderBlueAngel: he should take an extremely large bite out of her neck
TenderBlueAngel: so that her head falls off
TenderBlueAngel: and plops onto the floor
CriticalQueen: i'm sure snape could think up a better way of killing her. you know, help remus out
TenderBlueAngel: and makes a horrible noise
TenderBlueAngel: yes that too
CriticalQueen: no, cause then if she's a ghost she gets to do the headless hunt
TenderBlueAngel: then snape and remus should have sex
TenderBlueAngel: and then remus can go with hermione for the rest of ever
CriticalQueen: i say, bite it most of the way off
CriticalQueen: sex all around!
CriticalQueen: and all it requires is killing tonks
TenderBlueAngel: yes most of the way, so it swivels
TenderBlueAngel: and she can't see properly
CriticalQueen: lol, we'll call her swivellus
TenderBlueAngel: shape shift that, BITCH!

October 31, 2005-
The Fright Nights were cool though. Mike was working there, dressed as a vampire. He was hilarious. He came up to me and said "We don't have smiley cookies here!" And Michelle wasn't allowed to ride the King Kahuna b/c her boobs are too big and the bar wouldn't close right! LOL. I almost died.

Oh, and I think I got a job at Starbucks. It's downtown at the William Penn Omni Hotel location. I have to call the store manager back on Weds to talk about a meeting and all, but it sounds like a done deal. Yay me!

November 16, 2005-
The cast party was kinda wild. I'm way glad I went. So was Christian, and it was really only b/c he threatened me with the powers of water that I went. Poor Mike fell through the glass of a window in Chuck's house though and had to get nine stitches. Ouch. He was hysterical most of the nite after that. On a good note, Christina and I won at beer pong twice, and there was lots of pretty, pretty dancing. Yay!

We're all going to see HP4 on Friday, then having David Thewlis movie nite later at my place. Since David Thewlis won't be in the fourth movie, we thought we'd pay hommage to him.

November 22, 2005-
And I hate lattes. They're not hard to make, it's just that everyone orders them and I'm sick of them.

December 24, 2005-
Got to listen to my songs very loudly in my grandma's new wagon. I wonder what she's say if she knew how loudly "Gay Bar" was playing in her car today.

December 25, 2005-
TenderBlueAngel (3:18:26 PM): let him be british for the love of god!!!
silverreject (3:18:26 PM): he's a master of accents.
silverreject (3:18:45 PM): technically the voice of god has no nationality.
TenderBlueAngel (3:18:53 PM): mmmmmmmmm
TenderBlueAngel (3:18:56 PM): he is god

silverreject (11:29:02 PM): last time it made me a squib... this time i'm a ravenclaw.
TenderBlueAngel (11:29:27 PM): heheh
TenderBlueAngel (11:29:29 PM): squib!
silverreject (11:29:58 PM): I AM NOT A SQUIB!
TenderBlueAngel (11:30:08 PM): hehehehehehehehe

"I got a resolution, this year I'm playin' right."

Starting the new year off properly with a lyric from Jay-Z. He is da man. Oh yes.

So I had a little New Year's shindig, and it was very nice. Low key. Only five of us. My closest friends, basically. We played board games and watched cheesy movies (and Carson Daly) and did rainbow shots to our fave things from 2008 and set off crappy fireworks at midnight and all passed out to Keanu on the TV. Good times.

The we REALLY started the year off right by making our first 2009 destination EAT N PARK. Where we waited over an hour to get our food and had crap-tacular service. But that's okay. Afterward, Angela, Jess and I went shopping then Jess and I hung out for a while. Maria had come home by then but had to go to work.

Jess got me a Disney guide book for Christmas and I'm so excited. I can't wait to go there, and one of the things I want most to go on is Expedition Everest. Can't. Wait.

So last night and now this morning I've been playing Silent Hill Origins, which I bought with my Exchange gift card from Maria. It's super scary, but I love it. All my DJ icons are gone except for five which they randomly picked b/c I let my account expire. When I have money again in like a month I'll renew it. I'm so broke it's not even funny. Thanks Christmas! But after my birthday, well, I won't HAVE money b/c of the trip I'm going on, but I'll at least be caught up on bills and won't be totally nervous about the AES seizing my paychecks and Verizon shutting my phone bill off.

Last night I decided that Nicholas Cage and Keanu Reeves should probably both go to a deserted island somewhere together and live there for the rest of their days. They'd have each other for company, and I really think it's the only way to get either of them to just stop making movies.

Speaking of movies, Jess, Maria and I are going to see VALKYRIE tomorrow! SO EXCITED! Nazis and CRAZY TOM CRUISE (who is allowed to continue making movies, because he's so funny when he's completely insane, which is all the time), and Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Terrence Stamp, Eddie Izzard, and Tom Wilkinson. Yeah. So pumped.

Oh, and uh, I just found out that THERE'S A REMAKE OF FRIDAY THE 13TH!!! And it's opening next Month on FRIDAY THE 13TH!!! WHAT WHAT WHAT! It looks basically like a now remake, with the same bad murders and suspense, which should be awesome. But one thing I didn't like in the trailer is that in one scene Jason runs to his victim to kill her. Jason doesn't run. WTF. Oh well. You know I'm going opening day. Also will be going opening day to see The Unborn because it's a horror movie, and because it has GAZ in it. Whoa. If I had all my icons I'd use Put a Boat in It today. Alas.

Ok, going to eat some pancakes now. Later will visit with Nat and Joe and Dana and Angela at ENP. Do Svidanya!

"And the days went by like paper in the wind. Everything changed then changed again."

Last DJ entry of 2008! It's time for my yearly recap of entries! Let's see if I managed to write every month this time! One of my resolutions this year is to write in here more. Since I have internet at home now, this shouldn't be a challenge. Writing in here is a HUGE help to get me writing on other things, and that's my first main focus of 2009. WRITE ALL THE DAMN STUFF I KEEP PUTTING OFF! So, Cruel World, here is a look at my 2008 DJ Re-Cap, the greatest events of 2008 for Ringa, and what's coming up in 2009 that's super exciting!

2008 DJ Month-By-Month

Every year I post the first paragraph of the first entry of each month throughout the year. This is supposed to summarize your year, but since I hardly write in here anymore, it's usually just an amusing reminder of past entries. Here we go!

JANUARY
Happy 2008, Cruel World! So the internet at home has decided to work then not work then work again all willy nilly. It would be super nice if it worked a lot so I could get all my shit done, but I'm not complaining about the free.

FEBRUARY
I got a cold. :( I cannot go to 80s night. I iz sad. But I did something quasi productive this week- [followed by pictures of the LOLcats I made ;)]

MARCH
Yay! We made it to New York! After a bit of a crazy bus ride, we got here. It wasn't the worst thing or anything, but it was probably the worst Greyhound experience I've had. Maria and I were the third in a HUGE line of people waiting for the bus. We got there early so we could sit together. So they were filling up another bus first and had room left over. They grabbed the first ten people or so in the line and stuck them on the almost full other bus; two of whom were us of course. So we didn't sit next to each other. I had some guy next to me who was taking up his seat and most of mine and he kept rolling around and snoring and waking up and calling people on his phone. And the woman across the aisle from me kept taking her shoes off and putting them on again. At one point she dropped something and was looking for it in the dark and kept grabbing my foot. So I didn't sleep for most of the ride. But after we got to Philly, most people got off the bus and we got to sit together. I got some sleep then. The funniest thing was that our bus driver looked exactly like Jeffrey Jones!!! It was super creepy. And he talked really funny too. Very giggle-worthy.

APRIL
Hello DJ! It's been a while. As usual.

MAY
So as I'm writing in here I'm also writing in my livejournal. Yeah, I created one a couple of years ago and have never used it yet. But it's not like this one; it's for fandom things. Unfortunately, deadjournal doesn't get the hits I'd like for posting fanfics and fanart and whatnot. Yup.

JUNE
-Sunburn: I am peeling like whoa. It's really gross. I look like I have leporacy. Or a flesh-eating virus.

JULY
So I felt like blogging. I'm sitting at the Amazon Cafe once again. We're getting internet at home soon. About fucking time. I'm sick of sitting here and in Steve's office or at Starbucks to do my stuff. Effective immediately upon receiving internet, I will be online 24/7 and will mostly likely have to physically force myself away from the computer. It sucks, but I'm looking forward to it.

AUGUST
I have internets at home now! Yay! I'm so happy! In the time we've had it, I uploaded about a zillion pictures on facebook and listed a few things on etsy. My etsy shop was so sad. I had to revive it.

SEPTEMBER
What a fucking crazy weekend. God, I feel like I don't write enough in here now that I have internet. Ergh. Before I get to that... update!

OCTOBER
Ok, DJ. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for neglecting you, even while I have internet right here in my apartment. I suck. Oh well. I wanted to make sure I wrote today b/c 1- otherwise I would have missed a month and 2- it's my favorite day of the year. Happy Halloween, Cruel World!!!

NOVEMBER
I'm a little buzzed. I could be drunk-ish, but not really. Mostly tired and then drinking. I went out after the show tonight to Big Jim's. Had three drinks and a shot there. I'm drinking here a little. Just thinking.

DECEMBER
Just got home from work. Later I have to take three busses to get to the Strip district for the play tonight. I have to be at work at 7AM tomorrow, but I'm looking for someone to cover part of my shift b/c I have so much to do tomorrow. My next craft show is on Saturday in West Mifflin. I have to get all my stuff ready so that at 7AM on Saturday when Maria comes back I can just load it all up and go. So between now (12:36PM) and 5:45PM today and (unless I cover my shift) 4PM to 6:30PM tomorrow is all I have to get that done unless I want to get up super early on Saturday and do it. Or stay up late Friday after the show and do it. Then I have another show on Saturday night, a few hours after the sale. All that, and what do I want to do right now? Take a nap, check my facebook, and do meaningless surveys in the DJ. Gotta have brain relaxing time, I guess. Today was the 8th day I opened my store in the past 10 days. And I'm so over being there at 5AM and awake at 3:30AM.

YAY I DIDN'T MISS A MONTH! Wow, that's the first time in forever! So, what did we take from this? Seems like my DJ theme this year is INTERNET! Also, my guilt for letting the Cruel World distract me from my DJ. And also, I'm too damn busy to get anything done!!! But that's nothing new, is it? If you know me well, you won't be surprised there. Ok, good year for not missing a month!

Highlights of 2008

Some great stuff I did/that happened to me in the past year.

-I had a Super Mario themed 25th birthday party, complete with shirt, cake, and drinking game!
-I went to New York City with Maria, and we got to drink absinthe with Johnny and see Rent from the first row (for the second time!) before it closed forever.
-I acted in The Coarse Acting Show with a bunch of my favorite people, and was told I stole the show as Piles when I died in a puddle of water every night. Also, I got to play Starbuck the pirate and throw a dummy overboard. Also, I died onstage three times every night during that show. :)
-I had two more monologues produced for Practice Monologamy and directed two.
-Lenore had more kittens, and Bennie was one of them! We kept him, and he's been the best thing to see at the door every time I come home. Such a lovable kitty!
-I worked on How To Write a Play (AMAZING!) and The Importance of Being Earnest (WANTED TO KILL MYSELF) for The Summer Company.
-I did a bunch of craft shows and was a featured crafter for City Crafts! Also, had my first sale on Etsy.
-We had the Fifth Annual Halloween in June party, and it was holiday themed. Good times!
-I went to Idlewilde with the Carlow theatre kids, and it rocked.
-I saw The Police with Elvis Costello as their opener!
-BYRON GOT FIXED!
-Jess got engaged to Mike and asked me to be her maid of honor! I said yes. :)
-I saw Althea get married; a feat I never would have imagined possible.
-I saw Maroon 5 and The Counting Crows.
-I FINALLY worked on a stage version of Rocky Horror. It was pretty awesome.
-I kinda developed a mega-crush on Robert Downey Jr., who I think is the new Johnny Depp. I mean, the NEW Robert Downey Jr. is the new ALWAYS Johnny Depp. Yeah.
-I got invited to read for Poetsburgh and had a poem accepted into the inaugural issue of Weave Magazine.
-I auditioned for Carlow's all-female version of Much Ado About Nothing and fucking got THE ROLE I WANTED (Don John, aka KEANU, aka the villain) in it. WHOA.
-I dyed my hair black for that part!
-I switched stores! From the Omni downtown to Forbes and Craig in Oakland. And I liked the move, but miss my old store a lot!
-BARACK OBAMA FUCKING WON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
-I worked with The No Name Players for the first time on an AMAZING show with a FREAKING AWESOME cast!
-I got FIFTH ROW TICKETS on presale to see MORRISSEY in March!!!

And the last thing before I go clean up for the little New Year's gathering I'm hosting is the Five Things I'm Most Looking Forward to in 2009:
5. Moving into Michelle's new house
4. Creating my first poetry chapbook
3. Visiting Edisto in the summer
2. My super cool 26th birthday weekend getaway
1. (A TIE) Seeing Morrissey in the 5th row on St. Patrick's Day AND Being Maid of Honor in Jess' wedding and going to Disney World afterwards with some of my closest friends!

Ok, that's all for now. Happy New Year, Cruel World!

"When I wake up early in the morning, lift my head, I'm still yawning."

I'm exhausted, and I really want a nap today.

Hopefully this show I'm doing Saturday will have a great turnout and I'll sell lots and lots of stuff!!!

Until then, I think I'll go indulge myself in that nap, but make it a short one, and then get up and see how much I can crochet before I have to leave. But first, this survey that Allison sent me today. I haven't heard from her in AGES and haven't seen her in over a year, so it was nice to get something to help me procrastinate from her! :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4 Things About Me...
Four jobs I've had in my life:
1. Sales Associate at FYE
2. Practically Manager and Owner of Dollar Discount
3. Stage Manager for several local theatre companies
4. Barista at Starbucks
Four places I have lived:
1. West Mifflin, PA
2. Farmington, PA
3. Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA
4. Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh, PA
Four places I have been to on vacation:
1. Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
2. Orlando, Florida
3. Edisto Beach, South Carolina
4. San Diego, California
Four of my favorite foods:
1. pizza
2. egg salad
3. dumplings that my grandpa makes
4. any kind of cheese
Four places I would rather be right now:
1. in bed napping
2. anywhere in England
3. in any bar in Halifax
4. somewhere where it's snowing very heavily and there's a fireplace
"I am a turkey. Kill me!"
I should watch that ^ movie today. Addams Family Values. I have both of those movies on one of those value DVDs. It's the only movie that's sorta about Thanksgiving that I can probably stand. It's funny b/c there's a dog show on NBC and so I'm thinking of Beethoven b/c I think there's a Thanksgiving scene in one of those movies. There's like fourteen of those movies, though, so I'm not sure. I think I've only seen the first two. Last year Miracle on 34th Street was on (the old school B&W version) and I enjoyed watching that. Also the Incredibles, which I saw for the first time. This year I get John O'Hurley talking about dog breeds that I'm sure he doesn't really have a clue about. Nice. Hopefully the cheesy holiday movies will start soon. I could watch Addams Family Values until then. And then Home Alone 1 & 2! Yay! I've also been wanting to watch Batman Returns to get into the holiday spirit. And since I'm working on crafts right now, I feel like watching A Little Princess. It reminds me of Christmas and crafting b/c that's what I watched while making ornaments last year.
So I just saw a commercial saying the movie they're showing tonight is... The Incredibles. Way to repeat exactly what you showed last year. That movie was okay, but I'm not watching it again. Especially not making it an annual viewing. WTF, NBC? I only get NBC, PBS and sometimes a Christian and/or shopping channel anyway. Ooh, Judge Judy is still on today. I <3 her. Ok, anyway... so X-mas movies it is then.
Last year I drank half a bottle of wine and pretty much ate mashed potatoes and bread. I think it's gonna be exactly the same this year. I have some of those microwave potatoes and macaroni. And a challah bread. Thanks Sq. Hill for being so gosh-darned Jewish. You give me yummy breads! Also, I picked up a bottle of Arbor Mist. Winterberry Merlot. I think it's new this year. I can't wait to drink it all.
I've worked every Thanksgiving for the past four years. Every other year until now I was downtown in the hotel, where there were a good deal of people staying. And lots of ppl still go into their offices on holidays now. But we were never busy. Well, today in Oakland was DEAD. We had a few times where there was five people in line or so, but really it was soooooooo slow. I texted Tony before he came in to warn him and said, "It's slower than a retarded field mouse in here!" Heh.
So now I'm home. Watching a dog show. I took out the garbage and changed the litter. The cats are sleeping, except Bennie, who is watching me type. I will probably make more earrings, do some crochet work, hopefully start some light switch plates, eventually make "dinner", watch some movies, FORCE MYSELF TO WRITE SOMETHING, maybe read some fanfic or catch up on Naruto manga, post some pictures on facebook, possibly send out some poems to a few contests that are ending soon, and in general, lay around. That sounds like such a pathetic holiday, probably, but I will be so happy to do it all. Especially the crafting and writing. I need to hop back on the writing train. I have SOOOO many ideas I'm behind on that I need to get on paper. Or computer screen, as it were. And I am (tentatively) doing a craft show next Saturday, so I'm getting the Christmas crafts ready. In between rehearsals/shows for Wonder of the World. Busy busy busy.
Here's a quote for you, Suzanne, from John O'Hurley about one of these dogs: "If she had to run around the ring, you could time her with a calendar!"
OMG, it's like everything I type about comes up on the TV! I just saw a commercial for a movie called Beethoven's Big Break which comes out on video December 26th. WTF. That makes me laugh and makes me sick. Why why why do the things I write get rejected while SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE wrote a 32nd Beethoven movie and IT GOT PRODUCED?!?!
Bennie is trying to attack the dogs on TV. So I was gonna write a list of stuff I'm thankful for in here, but really, why be cheesy? I'm trying to get away from that. Maybe I'll write a poem about it later and it will be snide and full of jests about people who take such things seriously. I'm thankful I'm here and have my life and have opportunities to re-mold it into what I want it to be. And other than that, it will probably just depress me.
So I'm gonna go put in one of those movies and maybe make a sandwich and start working with those pliers. Yup. Happy Thanksgiving, Cruel World!
"What men daily do not knowing what they do."
I'm a little buzzed. I could be drunk-ish, but not really. Mostly tired and then drinking. I went out after the show tonight to Big Jim's. Had three drinks and a shot there. I'm drinking here a little. Just thinking.
My mom was supposed to come to the show tonight but it snowed a lot where she lived and she couldn't come. I'm sad b/c every night of the show that ppl came that I knew none of them stayed after to talk to me. And tonight I thought six ppl were coming that I knew and would stay. It turned out only two of them came, and they didn't stay to talk to me either, b/c Suz had to leave to catch a bus. :( It just makes me sad for some reason. I feel like this is the biggest acting part I've ever had and I'm really excited about it and am doing a great job and no one is even coming to see it. Or even cares. I'm really mad my mom couldn't come b/c she doesn't know I dyed my hair black yet and I was gonna let the show surprise her.
Got in a fight with Maria today. Like usual. I feel like what's going on isn't fair to her or me or anyone, but what to do? I suck at relationships. I don't understand them or how to make them work. I think they're just not for me.
I need to make more money. I need another job that pays or a theatre job that pays instead of doing all these shows for free. The day after this one ends I'm starting a new one. I need to have time to write and sell some writing. Or some time to craft and sell my crafts. I feel like I'm being pressured to do all this stuff and I can't handle all of it. Jess' wedding is coming up, not really soon, but I need to start saving for it. Christmas is practically here. I'm okay enough with my life where it is now, but not happy or satisfied. I feel like I need a fresh start.
I started thinking about him tonight. Old him. The other him I think of more often than that. Old him I only think of sparingly now-a-days. Or at least I only think of him with importance sparingly. It's easy to think of him in passing. I thought, god was that really me that happened to? Did that really occur? It seems more like a dream, or a nightmare, and I can't believe I actually did those things. I can't believe that was me there with him so long ago. Six and a half years ago now. I feel like I ate that time like breakfast cereal. Something sugary and bright colored that looks good on the surface or in the box but is really anything but healthy and slowly makes you malnourished and vitamin deficient.
I just finished playing a game on neopets. It's 3AM. I'm so drowsy but not tired. You know? Conan is on TV. Byron is sleeping beside me. I don't know what to do. I feel like crying and I'm not sure it's for any good reason. I'm not sad. I was going to pick sad as my mood, but it's not really true. I saw disappointed and thought that was more like it. Disappointed in me, life, ppl around me, ghosts of my past. What to do? All I can do is what I can do. And what I can do is up to me to do. So it's only my fault if I don't do it, right? I'm just babbling now. I should go to bed.
I thought today would be a good day. It was, at work, for a while. If this were six or seven years ago, Three's Company would be on Nick at Nite right now. Maybe it still is, who knows. I don't get cable. I own six of the eight seasons of it anyway. Been falling asleep to Season Five and Seven and Iron Man lately.
I think I'll go put in Season 5 Disc 2 and let Jack Tripper soothe me to sleep. <3 him.
Goodnight, Cruel World.
"Just wait for tomorrow, I guess that's what they all say just before they fall apart."
Byron FINALLY got fixed today. We just picked him up from the vet. He seems fine. A little shaky maybe. Now we're supposed to keep him away from the other cats for a while. HA. Like that will ever work.
Disappointing day at work. It was really quick, but I had to take the bus in, so I was LATE. And Mary told me she's most likely leaving the store soon. So I will either go with her or quit Starbucks. Damn. I wanted to leave for so long, but I really hate HAVING to leave.
I got my hair cut today and I really like it. Let's see how long I can make it stay nice. I'm gonna dye it tomorrow maybe. In time for Althea's wedding on Saturday.
Bennie is so bad.
I'm really tired right now. I had read-thru for the one acts last night and didn't realize I'd have to bus to work today. No good sleep. I'm gonna have to bus in tomorrow too. Blah. Going to the Sphinx tonight to hear Jan Beatty read. It's the first of the year. If I made it that long. My eyes are closing!
Tomorrow I work til one then have practice at six. Gah. Want nap.
Gonna go take one. For twenty minutes. Yup.
"The grabbing hands grab all they can, all for themselves after all."
What a fucking crazy weekend. God, I feel like I don't write enough in here now that I have internet. Ergh. Before I get to that... update!
-Work is crazy. It was really hellish while Mary was on vacation. Now it's kinda better. Melissa the uba-baish is getting transfered soon so she can perform her evil on some other poor Pittsburgh store. We're getting some new-ish people in. I'm kinda scared. Been thinking a lot about switching stores to somewhere A)closer to where I live and B)that's open more hours so I can work a morning AND a mid shift and be promoted to shift manager. Everyone says it's not that great and not even a huge pay raise, but I like doing the money stuff and the managing stuff and being in charge, so I think it's for me. Either that or I might try (after the holidays) getting some type of data entry/proofreading job and working at Starbucks only one or two days a week. Maybe at some college around here. And then I could take classes too. I really miss school.
-Theatre was over for a while, but now I have The Rocky Horror Show, which is less than expected. I only started coming a few days before it opened, and I was less than impressed with it. But it's gotten much better in a few short days, and it's grown on me. It's not the normal Rocky we all know. A director's vision. Kinda weird, but enjoyable anyway. The problem is that shit keeps going wrong. And this company is less than professional. They're all pretty nice, but the director (who also runs the company) expects too much for the lack-of-budget they have and the short time they gave the tech ppl to perfect everything. We only had ONE full tech run. If that means nothing to you, we usually have FOUR. Not ready to open. Blah. And literally the next weekend after this show closes I have tech for the one acts at Carlow. I'm directing two of them. And then before that closes we'll have auditions for the alumni show, Much Ado About Nothing. So I'm booked until Christmas. BLEH. Oh yeah, and Summer Company picnic was last weekend. Good times. Had fun.
-Crafts are kinda not going right now. I really need to step up and work on them. I have a sale less than two weeks away and one a week after that one. I'm trying to get some Halloween stuff together for it. I have stuff from last year that should help. I just think I'm working on the wrong things. I did sell a light switch plate on etsy last week. I was really excited about that.
-Writing is okay. I did that poetry reading called Poetsburgh last weekend. It was good, but not very well attended. I wrote a couple new things lately, and submitted to a couple places. My submission to Future Ten was rejected, but I was sure that was gonna happen. It really wasn't that great. I wrote it so quickly. There wasn't anything clever about it. Oh well. Next time.
So now that I've covered the four basic topics of my life, this weekend. As I mentioned, my show opened Friday. EPIC FAIL! So many things went wrong. And the fucking critic was there. So look for a review that sucks. The show really is pretty good when it all comes together. Then I went to Lava Lounge where it was packed with idiots. And Suzanne and Shannon show up at... 1AM. Guys, really? What's the point in coming at that point? I did have a good time there, though. And after, Jess and Mike went to Eat N Park with me. Good times. I got the Midnight Breakfast Bar.
Yesterday was like a blur. I slept in then went to the store then watched DVDs then went to the show. Michelle, Maria and Max came to see it. It went better than Friday, but still not where we want it. P.S.- I think the Frank in this production is kinda crappy (not the actor, the character they made him), but I still am strangely attracted to the guy. I guess the overall aura of FRANK is greater than any amount of suck they can put into him. *Sigh* So, then we went out to Uno's and had a bite to eat. Good times again. But I still feel like I did nothing all weekend.
Today started out good until I went shopping for something to wear to Althea's wedding. BLAH. I hate shopping for clothes. Period. And me and Maria got into a huge fight over basically nothing. I hate that nothing fits me or what does I still don't think looks good on me. I am gonna loose some damn weight before Jess' wedding if it kills me. So pretty much, I left the mall with nothing. I was pissed off, she was pissed off. And then we fought some more. So I went to ENP with Angela. It was really helpful to talk to someone about it. I feel better now, but it still sucks because it was really crappy for all day and just ruined the day for me. So weekend was basically useless.
I decided while at ENP that I'm too damn lazy. I mean, it's nothing I had to decide. I've always known it. But really. I have so much shit to do around here, and so much time when I could be doing things, but I don't feel like it. I know why. I get home from a shitty day at work and don't feel like using my few free hours between that and theatre to clean and write. But I need to just suck it up and do it. Or else I will end up unhappy and angry at myself. I want to be happy, successful and have a sense of accomplishment as often as possible. I feel like I have so much potential to DO and MAKE and BE and I end up just sleeping through it or laying around watching movies. Damn it. Frankie (of Rocky fame) says, DON'T DREAM IT, BE IT. I need to listen to him!!! JUST DO IT!
And with that, I'm going to go to bed early (10:37PM), and wake up RESTED for once, and come home from work and DO SOMETHING besides sit. DAMMIT. I'm falling asleep to Muppets' Treasure Island, and hopefully I'll dream of Tim Curry and have a wonderful day tomorrow. Send me your good wishes. I'm sick of being sick of everything!!! As Ben Stiller said in Meet the Parents, "I just wanna do what I wanna do!" Probably the best thing to ever come out of his mouth. Seriously.
Good night, Cruel World, and fuck you too. I'm getting what I want from you starting tomorrow.
OMg I'm getting drunk. Sorry. LOL. I meatn to write an entrey days ago bt never got around to it. I saw the Police with Elvis Costello recently... did I write about that? Awesome concert. so ggood. Then yesterady was Maris'a birthday and we went to see Maroon 5 and the Counting Crows. VERY GOOD. I've seen Maroon 5 before, and I wasn';ts sure I'd really be into the counting crows, biut it was very good. I lovesd all of M5 stuff. Got some on video.
Tomorrow is Maria's party. At the Libary. Should be fun. I wanted to go to 80s night at Lava tonight, but Maria wasn';t feeling good so we went to see Bottle Shock instead. It was a good movie. Alan Rickman is in it. Very good, about wine! So I wanted to driunk wine, so I did when we got home. Megan McCabe brought us a bottle of red wine that we never drank so we opened it tonight and I drank pretty mich the whoile thing while we watched the Bird Cage LOL! Now wwe have on League of Extraordinarty Gentlemen, which I also love. And a,m drinking a Jim Beam and coke witht it. Yay!
Wwe have seen so many movies lately! I want to see every movie that's out at a given time. So we can say we've seen them all. I am a member of a movie watchers club now that gets me rewards. Plus we go to the 99 cent theatre and AMC at the Waterfonrt is only $5 anytime during a weekday now. Ecept Friday Saturday and Sunday after 6PM is $10. Still not bad!
"Some people get up at the break of day, gotta go to work before it gets too late."
I have been busy busy busy! Sort of. This past weekend I FINALLY went and did that flea market in the park. Not bad. I "shared" a space with Bill (you can take up as much space as you want), so it was only $5 for my space instead of $10. And I made $65 in a little over five hours. Not bad! I had flea market stuff there, although not everything I have here to sell, and some crafts. I sold a scarf and two cell cozies from my crafts. I will put pictures of my flea market set up in my craft blog.
Since then I've found homes for the two remaining kittens (sort of... more later), gotten invited to do a poetry reading in Braddock by someone who found me online, got some more things done online, went to finally see Jess and Mike's apartment, and dropped off some stuff in Steve's office today after work. Including the sailor hat that says STEVE in rainbow colors that we got him at Idlewild. He asked me if I picked a one act to direct yet when he never actually asked me to direct one. But he doesn't remember asking Michelle to direct. Stupid. BTW, the alumni show IS going to be "Much Ado About Nothing," for which I'm totally trying out for KEANU's part. Hehehe.
I'm waiting to hear back from Future Ten about the plan I submitted to them. And still have to really jump into the full length play I've been outlining. It's kinda good I guess, b/c I think when I really get started on it, it's gonna be all I want to do for a while. Since I have two craft shows coming up and Althea's wedding and Rocky Horror all in September, it's good I didn't start yet. Of course, the One Acts and the alumni show will be right after that so, like always, there is no good time for anything!
I need to get together with Cara soon for her graduation/birthday. I will be delivering kittens this week, though. And Maria's birthday party is next weekend...
Oh yes, so there are more kittens. I have an appointment for Byron to get fixed in TWO WEEKS. I put in my application to get him fixed TWO MONTHS ago. And they have taken forever to do anything about it. Although they're giving me a great price: $60 for all his shots and getting him fixed. And of course, with two weeks to go, Lenore has more kittens. We didn't know she was pregnant b/c she has just never been normal size since the first litter, even though the first two were a while apart. She likes being plump I think. I kept feeling her belly for the lumps they get when they're pregnant, but I never felt anything. Dammit. So now there are FIVE more kittens. I'm not worried about it though. We're moving Lenore into the bedroom with the babies so Byron won't go near her until he's fixed. And I'm listing on craigslist as soon as they're almost ready to go instead of waiting so long and getting so attached to them. I found two people on craigslist this time right away. And a friend thinks her friends might want a couple of the new kittens. So it shouldn't be too bad. But if you're reading this and you want one, or know someone who does, let me know, please!!!
Ok, and before I forget, THIS MOVIE is rocking my world WAAAAY before it even is a thing! I think Gaz should be Marley and Carey be Cratchit, which will probably be the case since they're not listed with character names. So many good movies coming out! Tim Burton's making an Alice in Wonderland movie! And he's working with Crispin Glover on a project. Crispin Glover is also doing a movie about the Donner Party, rock! So good.
And by the way, I've never been a comic book or superhero kinda girl except for Batman, but I must tell you, along with Sin City and 300 being awesome, Wanted was really good, the new Incredible Hulk movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and Iron Man was FREAKING AMAZING! Loved it! And (SPOILER ALERT KINDA), they're making a sequel of it AND an Avengers movie along with some other Marvel heroes movies (Captain America, Thor) for 2010 and 2011. And you know what else is happening in 2010 and 2011? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts One (November 2010) and Two (May 2011). Great years for movies ahead.
P.S.- Robert Downey Jr. is TOTALLY the new Johnny Depp. Watch Iron Man for similarities in appearance, speaking style and movements. So good. Never really knew one thing or the other about RDJ, but he was good in Zodiac, and he rocked my world in Iron Man. I will, unfortunately, go see Tropic Thunder to see if it's really as bad as I think, and hopefully it won't change my opinion of him.
Ok, one last thing before I go for now: I'm getting really excited about helping to plan Jess and Mike's wedding and the vacation we're all going on afterwards to Disney World. And although I will have to save a LOT of money to 1)be the maid of honor with dress and bachelorette party and all, 2)get a cool bridal shower and wedding present for them, and 3)go on the vacation afterwards and have a really awesome time there, which I swear will happen, I REALLY want to plan a fall trip to NYC in a month or two. I have two reasons for going besides the usual fact that it's awesome and I can visit friends there. 1)Equus will be playing on Broadway featuring Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths, and 2)there will be a show called Absinthe showing there that is described as Cirque du Soleil meets Rocky Horror Picture Show. I'm so in. Jess and Mike were talking about going up there for Thanksgiving. I wonder if they're still interested. Will ask later and write about it!
For now, I'm doing the writing and the crafting. And the selling, hopefully! But RIGHT now, I'm going to rest a bit before dinner. Too much Starbucks after being gone for so long. Starbucks, there's another journal entry of its own...
"Everything is going wrong but we're just so happy."
I have internets at home now! Yay! I'm so happy! In the time we've had it, I uploaded about a zillion pictures on facebook and listed a few things on etsy. My etsy shop was so sad. I had to revive it.
So I was supposed to go to Cara's graduation party yesterday, but of course that didn't happen. Yesterday sucked a lot actually. If I had gone I would have had to take a bus and a two zone T both ways, and that sucks anyway, but I really didn't want to do that alone (esp. since I've never even been on the T before) and alone at night on the way back. I hate not having a car.
I also was supposed to go sell garage sale stuff today in the park, but I slept right through my alarm. Then, when I finally woke up I thought, oh well, it was supposed to storm all day today anyhow and I might not have been able to do it as it was. Nope. Nice and sunny all day. Dammit. I'm really broke right now and need some moneys! I just sold a few things on ebay. Need to list more. Hopefully some etsy stuff will sell. And I'm gonna do the park sale every Saturday I can until it ends.
Part of the reason I'm so broke is because I went to Idlewild last week with the theatre kids, which was really fun, and I went to the Police/Elvis Costello concert with Angela, which was amazing. Really great time. But they both weren't cheap, and due to those and theatre things, I've had to take off work a lot lately. So no hours plus spending money equals totally broke.
Well, at least Earnest is over. That was HELL. So glad it's done. The next show I'm working on is the ROCKY HORROR SHOW and that doesn't start for me until August 23rd. So I have some time away from that. I will hopefully get my craft stuff organized in that time and everything clean here.
Ok that's all that's going on now. I just wanted a short update. Off to upload more pictures, then start on youtube. Byes.
"No babies, no rabies!"
I just remembered that I declared that the motto of 2007 at New Year's 2006. Well, I can't think of anyone I know who had either that year. Hmm.
I'm in my store using the internets before the show tonight. Stupid fuckers upstairs in the gym are using the stair machine or walking machine or whatever so fast that the chandeliers are shaking and I can feel the floor and my table shaking. Sometimes when they're lifting weights (actually this happens a lot), they drop them on the floor right above where we stand behind our registers and the ceiling makes this awful noise like it's gonna cave in. We have had pieces of ceiling fall off before due to this. And once it hit a customer in the head. I can't say it wasn't funny. Someone should go up there and tell them they're DOIN IT WRONG! We've complained before, but no one ever really cares.
I went to see Dark Knight yesterday. It was awesome like I knew it would be. Gaz = thud. Forever. I loves him. I was kinda disappointed at the way it ended for a certain character, but I won't post that here b/c it is a HUGE spoiler. Not like anyone reads this anyway. Everyone was super in it; some better than others. And I really liked how it wasn't completely Christian Bale-centric this time. A lot of smaller characters got some quality screen time. Not that I don't love Christian Bale. I will almost definitely go see it again.
This show is draining me of my life. Everyone who has seen it has said it's really great. I knew it would be. But working on it has just sucked a lot. Only four more runs and a speed through, thank GOD! I really can't get over how badly April has failed when it has come to crunch time. I mean, the show has run every night without any real hitches, but when there have been problems, she is clueless. And she has no consideration for ASMs and actors at all. God. She should stick to dancing. The main problem is that she's too organized and if something happens that's not in her big plan she freaks. Even if that something is something that is SUPPOSED to happen but she just didn't know about it.
Tomorrow is Maria's graduation party. Good times. Good thing I already got her a present b/c I'm gonna be super broke soon. Next weekend is Idlewild and then the Police/Elvis Costello concert back to back.
Man, I almost forgot to pay my student loans. Woo. That sucks. I hate paying back my debts. They should just go away with time. And it sucks cuz right now I'm on some plan where I'm just paying back interest or something so the big number never gets any smaller and it feels like I'm just paying money for no reason.
Squee! Go watch "Find Your Grail" on facebook's ilike! Yay! It has Tim Curry in it and everything! This is my favorite song from Spamalot. I'm totally sad that Clay Aiken was in it for a while. That had to have been bad. Eww.
Oh, man, people on facebook are retarded. Seriously, like as in mentally handicapped. I kinda miss it when you had to have a college account to join. Oh well. Thems were the days.
Okay, I'm going to do some real kinda things on here and stop wasting time. Hahaha. See you all laters!
P.S.- I did this thing that makes a collage of my interests, with my LJ b/c it doesn't work on DJ, but I have pretty much the same things. This is what it came up with:
<img style="position: relative;
"Swap your dull grey thoughts for demands you can stand up to."
I am sitting in my store waiting for Ang to get off work so we can get food before practice. I have opened about a gillion tabs on three different windows full of surveys and fanfics to do when I'm at home and don't have the internet. I wish for it soon.
I saw this girl waiting for the bus today with a shirt on that said-
I Trust Severus Snape
(Albus did.)
It was awesome. I should look for that on ebay.
I've been wanting to read more HP fanfic lately (and watch the movies) since I've made these Harry Potter Sims. LOL. I just do that to see them interact with each other. It's funny b/c I don't even play with it that much. It's too damn hard to take care of them. I just want it to run itself.
Today I totally laughed in a customer's face b/c she was so retarded. We really have been getting a bunch of freakin' idiots in the store for some reason lately. Now, this happens all the time where someone orders, let's say, a large iced tea and when they go to pick it up a small (hot) latte is sitting there and they pick it up and take it instead. Happens all the freaking time with every kind of drink, but it's funnier when something like that (hot/cold, small/large) happens. It's funnier when instead of taking the drink away they ask one of us, "Is this my drink?" First of all, I don't fucking know what your drink is; do you think they transmit every drink ordered into my brain? Second, oh, you ordered a LARGE COLD drink? Does that look LARGE or COLD to you? Today, this woman ordered a small cup of cold apple juice. Now, what she was trying to take WAS small, I'll give her that. But it was a coffee. Doh! Only coffees and teas come up right at the register, but I forgive people that b/c the ones that take the wrong thing there are usually first-timers. This lady picked up the 200 degree cup of coffee, held it in her hand (thus feeling the temperature of the drink), and asked me if it was her cold apple juice. Are you fucking kidding me? I was like, "No, that's a HOT COFFEE. Your COLD APPLE JUICE will be up at the bar" and pointed. She looked at me then the bar and as she started to walk away I just burst out laughing hysterically. She looked at me, and I had to walk away quickly so she didn't get too offended. I can usually hold in my laughter until the idiots are gone then talk about them to my fellow baristas, but it was a crazy fucking morning. Man.
And yes, we do talk about you when you leave.
And yes, we will give you decaf if you piss us off or are pregnant and order some super caffeinated drink. Don't destroy the next generation's brain cells any more than you're going to already.
All right, I guess that's all I have to say right now. I should be writing this one-act play thing I'm quasi-working on now while I have ideas in my head, but internets! And then on to play practice where all my intelligence will be effectively exterminated.
BTW- if you want free tickets to see my show, The Importance of Being Earnest, let me know. They're trying to fill up the audience on opening night, and I have a several hundred free tickets to give out!
Until next time, Cruel World...
"So what's the use in complaining when you've got everything you need?"
So I felt like blogging. I'm sitting at the Amazon Cafe once again. We're getting internet at home soon. About fucking time. I'm sick of sitting here and in Steve's office or at Starbucks to do my stuff. Effective immediately upon receiving internet, I will be online 24/7 and will mostly likely have to physically force myself away from the computer. It sucks, but I'm looking forward to it.
Halloween in June was this weekend. It was a great time, but it seemed somehow lamer than other ones. Everyone was out of the apartment by 3AM. My costume was pretty sweet though. I didn't think it would be. A whole group of Duquesne kids came as Candyland, thus foiling our plans to be that for this coming actual Halloween. But they were awesome, so it's ok. It was the same people (in part) that came as the flag on the moon last year. I said next year they should come as the OJ Simpson trial. Althea wants to be the glove.
The clock on this UltraSharp Dell Desktop flatscreen that the lovely people at Amazon have says it's 12:41. It's actually 1:41, but I wish the latter were true. I've wasted too much time today. Oh well. I was only gonna sleep it off anyway. Maria is on vacation last, this, and next weeks. I've been bus-in' it up. I mostly hate it. We cleaned and cleaned for the party though, so I really don't have anything to do at home. There is a bit more cleaning to do, but I don't feel like it.
I did a craft sale not too long ago, and it was okay. I have ideas for stuff to make, but I'm gonna take my time with it. Yesterday I wrote three poems, which is more than I've written in months. Too damn busy. I did have a poem accepted to Weave Magazine. I think I wrote that here already... But now I need to get crackin' on my play before the inspiration leaves me completely. And my movies too. And my one acts. One has a deadline this month. Gotta work!
So other than that and this horrible play I'm working on (not that the play is horrible, it's just boring to be at practice with nothing to do), I'm free of freaking out trying to get stuff done in a hurry.
I just watched some girl try to push her way out of the pull doors here. She tried both without looking at the word pull on them then gave up and went out a different set of doors across the cafe. Stupid people make the world turn slower. And they all love to visit this hotel.
Today some woman wanted sugar free amaretto syrup in her coffee. Not only do we not have a sugar free version of that, we don't even have amaretto syrup. Then she didn't tell me she wanted it in a for-here mug, but told Kat at the register she wanted it in a mug. When Kat brought it to her she said, no, she wanted to BUY a mug to go with it. Okay... So the lady made Kat go fetch her an array of mugs from our retail wall and bring them to the register for her to pick from. What a fucking moron. And I have to smile and be nice to these people! See why I get so stressed out!
That's weird. I got a call yesterday from Boston University about my interest in their grad school. I didn't remember sending anything to them, but I thought maybe I did. Just now someone from the University of Maryland called and left a voicemail for "Anna" about their grad school. Hmm. Anna could be a bad interpretation of my name? I dunno. Weird. Probably some dumb bitch doesn't know her own phone number. She doesn't deserve to go to grad school.
Ok, I better go get on the 61C. I need to stop at the post office and send out a package. I bought the new Neil Diamond album for my grandparents. They don't have a lot of money right now and would never buy it for themselves. But they do like him a lot, and I got a discount on it.
Play practice tonight, work tomorrow, then 80s night. Come join me if you're not attending some lame barbeque! It will be much more fun with DJ Doug and me! Then hopefully I'll sleep all weekend long! Next weekend is Althea's bridal shower (which I've got to find some way to get to) and John's going away party. And tech weekend. Then it will be the opening of the show, Maria's graduation party and Carlow Theatre Idlewild trip. See? Even when I'm not busy I am!
Summary of life... quickly.
-Sunburn: I am peeling like whoa. It's really gross. I look like I have leporacy. Or a flesh-eating virus.
-Crafts: Sale went okay, can't complain because the table was free.
-Writing: I had a poem accepted in Weave Magazine for their inaugural issue. Woot!
-Theatre: Wrapped up one show, which was awesome, and am working on a new show, not so awesome. It's The Importance of Being Earnest, so of course the show is great. But cast is not so great and practices are numbing my brain. Blah. Come see it though to see me play a maid! Dress and all!
-Cleaning: I feel like I've been cleaning forever and getting no where! Such is life when you have six cats living in your house...
-Kittens: We still have one unclaimed kitten, but three are still at the house. My favorite one left yesterday. I was le sad.
-Yard Sales: I've been gathering stuff to sell in my cleaning and I have bunches to get rid of now! I want to do this flea market in North Park where you just show up and it's ten bucks. Can't hurt to try. But I have to wait until after next week. Will sell crafts at it too!
-Halloween in June!: It's this Saturday! Yay! I have a lot of stuff to do yet for it, including make my costume. But it should be really really fun!
Ok now I'm going to do more internets and go shopping and go clean and maybe play Nintendo! Wheeeeeeeeeee!
"This man, he exist?" "I'm afraid so, General..."
So as I'm writing in here I'm also writing in my livejournal. Yeah, I created one a couple of years ago and have never used it yet. But it's not like this one; it's for fandom things. Unfortunately, deadjournal doesn't get the hits I'd like for posting fanfics and fanart and whatnot. Yup.
I don't really have anything to write in here. Same old thing going on as usual. Starbucks is blah, doing theatre, trying to write but failing. Usual. Nothing's bad right now, though. It's just normal. BTW- I hate kids. I'm in this Starbucks and there's a couple of them SCREAMING. Blah!
I need to go get some allergy meds before play practice. My nose is driving me freakin' crazy. Crap, I was gonna list some stuff on ebay before I left here. Oh well. I needed to do some theatre things, which I'm taking to the theatre to do, and sign up for this craft sale, which I can't actually send for another ten minutes. Blah.
So Ang is gonna be working in my store. YAY! It's about time someone competent was there. And now we'll be together all the time like Siamese twins, what with the plays and all too. BTW, everyone come see this show! It's the first two weekends of June and REALLY FUNNY. More about that later.
I guess that's all I'll make myself write or I'll just start rambling. Blah. Just wanted to put something down. I have off four days in a row after tomorrow, and I'm cleaning my whole apartment from top to bottom. Yard sale here I come!
Ok, that's May, Cruel World!
"I'll make your heart smile."
Hello DJ! It's been a while. As usual.
I just finished my play last night. The one I've been ACTING in, which is awesome. Not to brag or anything, but everyone has been telling me how amazingly funny I am in the one play, especially Jay. That makes me so happy to think I don't completely suck at acting. I am really funny in that one... or was since it's over now. We had a sell out crowd this whole past week. I got to see some people in the audience (like Cher and Janiece and Joel!) and work with some people back stage (like Jess and Trudy and Dani) that I haven't seen in ages! It was a really awesome time. I'm kinda sad it's over, but I won't miss all the work and time it took.
I've had two of my monologues selected this year for the Practice Monologamy contest, which will be performed in two weeks. I'm also directing two, which is cool. I hope they don't suck too much. That's the last weekend of April on Thurs, Fri and Sat, so come see them!
After that I'm getting back into some craft stuff since I've been neglecting that for theatre. Gonna get my etsy and blog back up to date and make some new things. Hopefully there will be another IMI in May or June b/c I miss them. I also have a three day block planned out to completely clean the apartment. I'm talking Clean House style, like when I have my keep pile I'm gonna go back through it and get rid of half of it again. I have too much SHIT that I don't use or even remember I have and the apartment is a fucking wreck. We don't know where anything is half the time and that sucks. Plus we're staying in this apartment for at least another year (that's right, it's my first extended lease!), so we might as well make it livable. Then we're planning another yard sale. Althea is bringing some of her stuff to sell at that too so we can have a nice big one.
That will be nice to do in May b/c Maria will be done with school, graduated and there will be no theatre. And the apt. will be all ready for the Fifth Annual Halloween in June party, which is gonna rock. I'm doing a show starting in June that opens in July for the Summer Company. It's The Importance of Being Earnest, which is pretty much my dream to work on... I'm not stage managing it, just ASMing, but that rocks for me. Not as much work, and I can do the show with minimal stress. April, the stage manager, tells me that ASMs in this show are also going to play maids, so looks like I'll kinda be acting again anyway. :)
Oh, yes. Lenore had kittens this morning. LOL. I kinda knew she was pregnant again, but it's so hard to tell for sure. I really wanted to get Byron fixed after last time, but I've been very low on money and time. That was right around the holidays and forget that shit. Given the timing on this one, she got pregnant in early February, which would have given us November, December and January to get Byron fixed. Holidays, vacations, two shows, extra work hours, etc. Yeah. But this time I'm so serious. I don't want Byron spraying any more and this will be the LAST bunch of kittens. Although I'm actually pleased we're gonna have more kittens around. They are so sweet and I love them all! But I already have one possible taker for a kitten. There's four again, so if you are interested, let me know!
So for now I'm working on some poems and drafting a full length play (I hopes, I hopes...) and a couple little one acts. And thinking about getting a degree in stage management. And thinking how I should be a manager at Starbucks or find somewhere that pays better. A lot of people are jumping ship right now b/c it kinda sucks for the employees at the moment. A lot of changes going on so that customers are getting better products and we're working our asses off with no incentive or reward. Yeah.
Ok, that's all for now; just thought I'd update SOMETHING in here since I neglect it so much. And I don't wanna miss a month! TTYL, Cruel World!
One more time!
So, because the hostel we stayed at is super awesome, they let us use the lockers in their basement today after we checked out so we could go shopping and stuff without all our luggage! We just came back to get it and were gonna go sit at the station or a cafe for a while and wait, when we remembered that they had a lounge and game room we'd never even looked at. It has a ping pong table, pool table, tvs, movie room, internet lab and several arcade games! So we're sitting here relaxing a bit and using the web before we head up to use the subway the last time.
Last night we went out and luckily it had stopped raining for a while. We met Johnny at 2 x 4 where he had met these people, one of whom was leaving for China the next day (today). They were super nice. And I had a Moz shirt on, which everyone at the gay bar loved. Some girl took a picture of it to put in her blog. So Johnny and I had absinthe! Unfortunately, as with most things in my life, it was sorta ghetto. This is because they were out of sugarcubes, so they had to use a box of domino's sugar and shake it up with it! LOL! It was still good, very good. It didn't make me all crazy (I just had a little glass), but it made me super mellow and I got drunk very quickly afterwards. I would totally do it again! We were there until around 3AM (the bars close at 4AM here, and if there's enough people they just close the doors and keep serving liquor until everyone leaves), then we caught the subway home and said by to Johnny. So much fun!
Today we woke up, checked out, had breakfast and headed to Greenwich Village again to go to the White Horse Tavern. Well, it decided to fucking pour rain again, so everything we had that was dry finally soon became soaked again. Dammit. And we walked in the wrong direction for about seven blocks too. :( But in the end it was worth it. This bar was so cute! It was all wooden and was truly pub-tacular. It reminded me of a classier Big Jim's. There was... what I assume to be a retired soccer team there. They all had on soccer-seeming uniforms but were really old. They were in the bar... singing songs together! Very drunkly, too. Esp. for 3PM. It was so cute! I was happy just to visit this historic bar. This is the bar in which Dylan Thomas drank 18 shots of whiskey before he stumbled home and died. This is the bar across the street from where Jack Kerouac lived, and the bar which kicked him out time and time again. This is the bar where Hunter S. Thompson hung out in New York. I was thrilled! I would go there all the time if I lived here, and I would write a book sitting in the window of the bar.
So then we came back here and are chilling in the basement lounge. There's a bunch of British boys with adorable accents playing pool in the next room. Some French girls were just smoking cigarettes in front of me. And two Chinese people are using the computers in the internet lab. Earlier today, we checked into our lockers with a group of German kids. I <3 NY! I will be truly sad to leave it, not just because I'm a-feared to get on the Greyhound bus again after last week's trip!
Will update some time upon arrival home! I had a blast this week!
"And I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain?"
Jesus Christ! The rain is ridiculous! We left the hostel a little after noon and got back around 7PM and we are totally soaked. And I'd say we only spent about an hour of that in the rain. My shoes are totally soaked; they're sitting by the heat pipe thingy now so they dry a little before we go out tonight.
So when we left today we went to Starbucks for breakfast. They have all the sandwiches and salads and things here. They were pretty good. BTW, we've found three Starbucks now that receive a rating of 5 out of 5. And I think we've been to nine. So that's one third that are as good as they're supposed to be. Not very good. But those three have been very nice.
We then walked through the park, stopping to visit a the Central Park castle, Castle Belvedere. It was really pretty! Very small, but cute anyway. Then we got to the MET. We spent HOURS there and still didn't see everything. I took gillions of pictures. Esp. in the Egyptian rooms. They had so many sarcophagi and mummies! It was pretty cool. We decided not to go to the Guggenheim or Whitney since the MET took so long. We'll just visit them another time.
Then we were gonna walk through the park, but since it was POURING, we walked on the street looking for somewhere to eat. Jesus. In case you don't know, the East Side, where we were, is home to Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue and Park Avenue. Not too many cheap little cafes. But lots of horrid expensive stores and more horrid people. I totally saw a fight for a taxi and a fight on a subway today, both between two women! So we finally found a cafe, I think it was called Viant's Coffee, where we had sandwiches and warm drinks. We were then right by FAO Schwartz and the Plaza Hotel (I'm pretty sure I actually saw it, but it was getting dark and we were far away), which were very close, but it was raining so hard that we decided just to get on the subway and go home since it was right next to us. Blah!
So then we stopped in a little corner grocery store by our hostel and I bought a 1 pint, 8 oz. bottle of Smirnoff Triple Black! Ha! I'm gonna drink it now in my room while I'm getting dry. Tonight we're going out again with Johnny, probably to the Alphabet Lounge and Coyote Ugly but definitely to 2 x 4 again. Then tomorrow we have to check out by 11AM! And hopefully there will be a place in the Times Square station to get a locker so we don't have to lug our bags around all day. I think we're gonna go to Ellis Island and the White Horse Tavern then just hang out until our bus leaves. Yay!
Ok, that's all for now. Not sure if I'll get to update tomorrow, but I will be home soon! See you in a bit, Cruel World!
P.S.- I miss my kitties!
"Will I see you tonight on a downtown train?"
So today we had a nice calm day. Didn't do too much, and we're back at the hostel early. I don't even mind b/c as far as I see it, I'm on vacation and I'm relaxing. I wouldn't be able to do that at home! We're watching Sister Act 2 on TV right now, lol!
So today we went down to Greenwich Village and did some more shopping. We went to this place called Forbidden Planet where they have lots of manga and comics and a place called the Strand which is a bookstore that has 18 miles of books. Wow! They had this little artist/vendor booth fair thing going on in Union Square so we looked at that too. I bought an Obama button (yes!), and I went for it and bought a hash pipe. It's not as pretty as the ones in that store the other day, but it was cheaper and I bought it from an artist who makes them himself in New Jersey. He was really cool, and I was happy to support his craft.
Then we went to East Village to look for this one restaurant, which doesn't exist anymore. But I got some nice pictures. It seems like the only time we've ever had subway problems is when we were going to or coming from East Village. Rar! Eventually we got back to Greenwich Village where we ate at a cute little vegan place called Sacred Chow. Then we went to Murray's Cheese shop! Yay! We got some cheese, bread, chocolate, and sparkling juice to take back to the hostel.
So now we're here just chilling. I'm glad b/c we need to rest today. Tomorrow we're visiting three museums and going out drinking. And then Saturday we're probably going to have to check out early and lug our bags around for hours before our bus leaves at 11PM, and who knows what that will be like. It seems like it's almost over, even though we have two days left. Oh well; I've had a great time and at least I haven't been at work!
"The bomb that will bring us together."
Ok, so just so everyone knows, the bomb that went off in Times Square this morning was a minor one and we weren't anywhere near it. It was about 3:45AM and we were last in Times Square around 2AM I'd say. It was just big enough to blow the front windows out of the army recruitment office that it was targeted for. No big!
So yesterday we went to Europan for breakfast again. It was yummy! Then we took the subway to 79th and walked to the New York Museum of Natural History. It was nice, but it was very similar to the one in Pittsburgh. Also, it was set up very weird, and we had a hard time finding our way around. Lots of dead ends. And we couldn't even see the dinosaurs without paying a separate price. Weird.
So after that we headed down to Chinatown to meet Johnny. We had snacks and drinks at this place called XO. I had some coconut ice slush and it was super yummy! Then we walked around Chinatown for a bit and looked at the little shops. We were going to try to go to Little Italy next, which is near Chinatown. But it seems like maybe the Chinese took over the Italians, risk style, because no matter where we went, the place on the map that said Little Italy still had Chinese lettering all over the place. There were no Italian places anywhere! So we went into a nearby Whole Foods to look at the map and plan where to go next. It was amazing in there. I've never been in the one in Pittsburgh, but John said this was incredible even for New York. I took tons of pictures b/c I was so impressed! They had this thing that would grind peanuts into peanut butter right in front of you. OMG, it was amazing.
So after that we went back to the West Side and went to this Chinese place called The Cottage that John knows. OMG. While you're there, they give you unlimited free box wine. It was awesome! And the food was good too, although there was too much for us to eat. But as we were walking back with our takeout boxes some guy asked if he could have them and we said yes. I was happy someone would eat them b/c I knew I wouldn't. We stopped at the hostel then went back downtown to East Village for some bar crawling.
We went to a nice dive place called 2 x 4 that I had looked up. Well drinks were only $3 there and it was a nice cozy atmosphere. We're going back on Friday b/c they carry ABSINTHE there (and it's hard to find that, even in NYC), but they were out last night. Then we went to a tobacco bar called Karma. Full bar plus hookahs. Very nice. Pricey though. Beer was $6 for draft. We just stayed there for a drink and a smoke. It's rare to smoke in a bar here. They don't allow that except in a few special circumstances. After that we were a little buzzed but tired, so we headed home.
Not sure what's gonna happen today. But I'm gonna go take a shower now, and we'll see from there!
