"I am a turkey. Kill me!"
I should watch that ^ movie today. Addams Family Values. I have both of those movies on one of those value DVDs. It's the only movie that's sorta about Thanksgiving that I can probably stand. It's funny b/c there's a dog show on NBC and so I'm thinking of Beethoven b/c I think there's a Thanksgiving scene in one of those movies. There's like fourteen of those movies, though, so I'm not sure. I think I've only seen the first two. Last year Miracle on 34th Street was on (the old school B&W version) and I enjoyed watching that. Also the Incredibles, which I saw for the first time. This year I get John O'Hurley talking about dog breeds that I'm sure he doesn't really have a clue about. Nice. Hopefully the cheesy holiday movies will start soon. I could watch Addams Family Values until then. And then Home Alone 1 & 2! Yay! I've also been wanting to watch Batman Returns to get into the holiday spirit. And since I'm working on crafts right now, I feel like watching A Little Princess. It reminds me of Christmas and crafting b/c that's what I watched while making ornaments last year.
So I just saw a commercial saying the movie they're showing tonight is... The Incredibles. Way to repeat exactly what you showed last year. That movie was okay, but I'm not watching it again. Especially not making it an annual viewing. WTF, NBC? I only get NBC, PBS and sometimes a Christian and/or shopping channel anyway. Ooh, Judge Judy is still on today. I <3 her. Ok, anyway... so X-mas movies it is then.
Last year I drank half a bottle of wine and pretty much ate mashed potatoes and bread. I think it's gonna be exactly the same this year. I have some of those microwave potatoes and macaroni. And a challah bread. Thanks Sq. Hill for being so gosh-darned Jewish. You give me yummy breads! Also, I picked up a bottle of Arbor Mist. Winterberry Merlot. I think it's new this year. I can't wait to drink it all.
I've worked every Thanksgiving for the past four years. Every other year until now I was downtown in the hotel, where there were a good deal of people staying. And lots of ppl still go into their offices on holidays now. But we were never busy. Well, today in Oakland was DEAD. We had a few times where there was five people in line or so, but really it was soooooooo slow. I texted Tony before he came in to warn him and said, "It's slower than a retarded field mouse in here!" Heh.
So now I'm home. Watching a dog show. I took out the garbage and changed the litter. The cats are sleeping, except Bennie, who is watching me type. I will probably make more earrings, do some crochet work, hopefully start some light switch plates, eventually make "dinner", watch some movies, FORCE MYSELF TO WRITE SOMETHING, maybe read some fanfic or catch up on Naruto manga, post some pictures on facebook, possibly send out some poems to a few contests that are ending soon, and in general, lay around. That sounds like such a pathetic holiday, probably, but I will be so happy to do it all. Especially the crafting and writing. I need to hop back on the writing train. I have SOOOO many ideas I'm behind on that I need to get on paper. Or computer screen, as it were. And I am (tentatively) doing a craft show next Saturday, so I'm getting the Christmas crafts ready. In between rehearsals/shows for Wonder of the World. Busy busy busy.
Here's a quote for you, Suzanne, from John O'Hurley about one of these dogs: "If she had to run around the ring, you could time her with a calendar!"
OMG, it's like everything I type about comes up on the TV! I just saw a commercial for a movie called Beethoven's Big Break which comes out on video December 26th. WTF. That makes me laugh and makes me sick. Why why why do the things I write get rejected while SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE wrote a 32nd Beethoven movie and IT GOT PRODUCED?!?!
Bennie is trying to attack the dogs on TV. So I was gonna write a list of stuff I'm thankful for in here, but really, why be cheesy? I'm trying to get away from that. Maybe I'll write a poem about it later and it will be snide and full of jests about people who take such things seriously. I'm thankful I'm here and have my life and have opportunities to re-mold it into what I want it to be. And other than that, it will probably just depress me.
So I'm gonna go put in one of those movies and maybe make a sandwich and start working with those pliers. Yup. Happy Thanksgiving, Cruel World!
