"The bomb that will bring us together."
Ok, so just so everyone knows, the bomb that went off in Times Square this morning was a minor one and we weren't anywhere near it. It was about 3:45AM and we were last in Times Square around 2AM I'd say. It was just big enough to blow the front windows out of the army recruitment office that it was targeted for. No big!

So yesterday we went to Europan for breakfast again. It was yummy! Then we took the subway to 79th and walked to the New York Museum of Natural History. It was nice, but it was very similar to the one in Pittsburgh. Also, it was set up very weird, and we had a hard time finding our way around. Lots of dead ends. And we couldn't even see the dinosaurs without paying a separate price. Weird.

So after that we headed down to Chinatown to meet Johnny. We had snacks and drinks at this place called XO. I had some coconut ice slush and it was super yummy! Then we walked around Chinatown for a bit and looked at the little shops. We were going to try to go to Little Italy next, which is near Chinatown. But it seems like maybe the Chinese took over the Italians, risk style, because no matter where we went, the place on the map that said Little Italy still had Chinese lettering all over the place. There were no Italian places anywhere! So we went into a nearby Whole Foods to look at the map and plan where to go next. It was amazing in there. I've never been in the one in Pittsburgh, but John said this was incredible even for New York. I took tons of pictures b/c I was so impressed! They had this thing that would grind peanuts into peanut butter right in front of you. OMG, it was amazing.

So after that we went back to the West Side and went to this Chinese place called The Cottage that John knows. OMG. While you're there, they give you unlimited free box wine. It was awesome! And the food was good too, although there was too much for us to eat. But as we were walking back with our takeout boxes some guy asked if he could have them and we said yes. I was happy someone would eat them b/c I knew I wouldn't. We stopped at the hostel then went back downtown to East Village for some bar crawling.

We went to a nice dive place called 2 x 4 that I had looked up. Well drinks were only $3 there and it was a nice cozy atmosphere. We're going back on Friday b/c they carry ABSINTHE there (and it's hard to find that, even in NYC), but they were out last night. Then we went to a tobacco bar called Karma. Full bar plus hookahs. Very nice. Pricey though. Beer was $6 for draft. We just stayed there for a drink and a smoke. It's rare to smoke in a bar here. They don't allow that except in a few special circumstances. After that we were a little buzzed but tired, so we headed home.

Not sure what's gonna happen today. But I'm gonna go take a shower now, and we'll see from there!

I wish I was having as much fun as you are right now! We'll have to hang out some night when you return to the greatest city in the world (pittsburgh!)
