"I would go out tonight..."
Whew, I'm tired! We took a nap this afternoon, but I think we need a full night's sleep in an actual bed before anything is really right again. My contacts are screaming at me; lucky I just had an eye appointment and got some new ones. So after we woke up, we went to this place a little further down in the West Side called Hummus Place. We had a huge plate of fava beans and hummus with a side of falafels and pita bread for only $7.50. And Maria had some sangria and I had homemade iced tea that were both soooo yummy. I had on a Smiths t-shirt, and this one waitress noticed and put on a Smiths CD while we were eating. It was really cool. She walked by and looked at me and we both laughed b/c it was obvious they put that CD on just for me. :)
Then we walked down to Central Park and visited the Dakota and Strawberry Fields where we caught the end of a talk some guy was giving about the memorial. Turns out this guy takes care of it and knows all these famous people and places/arranges the flowers and other items on the mosaic every day. He was saying how he got pumpkins for Halloween and trees for Christmas too. It was pretty neat.
Then we went down to Times Square and just hung out for a while. We walked all over the place and visited some shops. My feet started hurting pretty bad during this, of course. They've been bothering me lately. I went and bought an ACE bandage to wear tomorrow so it won't bother me so much. We went into two other Starbucks. One was super small and had no seating areas at all, so we didn't get anything there. The other was very nice and friendly, but they made my drink wrong. The search for the perfect New York Starbucks continues. There's one really close to the hostel, so maybe that will be good.
So we decided to not go out with John tonight since we are so tired and my feet hurt. We're gonna hang out with him on Wednesday when he doesn't have class. So went caught the subway back to the West Side and went to this place called Europan (as in it's European and serves pan, aka bread), although it seems only Mexican and Asian people were working there. They were super nice. We got some New York pizza and some pastries and juice and took it back here to eat. It felt so good to take my shoes off and put on pajamas for the first time since Sunday morning.
So now I'm watching Family Guy and relaxing and will probably go to bed soon. Not sure what we're doing tomorrow, but I'm sure I will write in here again soon!
Good night, Cruel World!
